I create clothes for people of a certain lifestyle and mindset. My ultimate goal is that the garments I create will become a valuable part of the wearers day to day life. I aim to design useful clothes that allow the wearer to be themselves and to become so ingrained in the wearer’s lives that it becomes part of them and part of their identity. I strive to create and manufacture quality garments designed to last, to be passed on from one generation to the next. I want our customers to feel part of the brand and connect to the design, allowing a tailored made-to-measure experience for the client, whilst also providing them with the information of exactly how their garment were made and its quality, so that they have the full knowledge of what they are buying.

Whilst I ultimately take inspiration from a wide range of time perioids throughout history, my ultimate aim however, is to take these references and reinterpret them, creating new silhouettes, experimenting with material and construction all the while keeping the sensibilities of these time periods in mind.

I want to reinvent some of the functional shapes, volumes and accessories of the past, bringing them into the 21st century where they may serve a new purpose, adapted to meet the demands of our modern day lives. I am constantly striving to bring fashion forward, to bring something new and innovative to the consumer.

My design ethos has always been founded on heritage and tradition. I have a real admiration and interest in the artisinal approach to design. Bespoke tailoring is a craft that I am particularly inspired by. The processes and rich traditions that have been passed down from generation to generation mean that every garment carries it's own story as well as the history of it's construction. Unfortunately these crafts are slowly losing relevance in our current fast paced society where people tend to value speed over quality. I wish to preserve the artisinal craftmanship in my work. This notion of tradition is very important to me. I have always found myself fascinated by the many wildly different traditions around the world. The sense of pride and heritage that these traditions harbour in people is something I find quite fascinating and I would like to try and capture this through my work. I want to try and shed light on lesser known or forgotten traditions in my collections and re-contextualise them, using the associated garments as a base from which I can create so that they can be shared and known, giving them life once more.

I intend to design and create garments for a number of different purposes. Firstly, I want to design clothes that will be worn daily. The sort of garments that bring value to our everyday working lives. I also wish to create garments that may be used for sports such as horse riding, polo, hunting, skiing, sailing and golf. Finally, I also wish to design for performances, be it music, cinema or ballet, which have a been a huge source of inspiration in my work. I would like to collaborate with like minded creatives to expand our work and vision.

The work of avant garde designers such as Ann Demeulemeester, with her poetic storytelling, and Martin Margiela’s celebration of garment construction by exposing typically hidden structural elements, making the creation process as vital as the final product, have been a big source of inspiration to me and my development as a designer.

They both constantly looked to the past, taking historical garments, deconstructing them or repurposing them into new designs. Their garments were undoubtedly avant garde yet they maintained a certain delicacy and classic appeal.

I also take inspiration from the work of Alexander McQueen and his storytelling and tailoring, Haider Ackermann for his impeccable technique, use of leather and beautifully constructed garments as well as the aesthetic approach of Sonia Rykiel and her unique of volumes

I want to expand upon the principles of avant-garde. My vision is one that takes the deconstructed, artisanal approach of the avant garde all the while preserving a somewhat classical appearance.
